weird Dream effects

Post by Jtull on 2011-01-19, 19:19

ok well I came to thinking about this this morning after the earthquake because well it made my dream go kinda weird. So I was wondering if any of you guys have had dreams that go really weird because of some outside stimuli.

I don't know why you would go to the bathroom for a pie but sure I understand. Wink

my neighbor's dog barks constantly, 24/7. even as i am posting, i can hear this dog. its no wonder why most of the dreams on my street involve barking dogs. (this has been confirmed by nearly all of my neighbors)

The thing with remembering dreams is weird, if you wake up, and attempt to remember what you dreamed of, your never going to remember, but if you wake up and don't even think about it, then you will easily remember it.

The Human Brain...such a weird thing.

I hate the multiple reality dreams. The ones where you're dreaming that you're dreaming. You wake up and start going about your day. Then you wake up again. Very disorienting and really makes you question your reality

Thing is, the subconscious works such that it's almost like it's always in a dream. It's there, but not quite, so that could make sense as to why a dream can be 100% believable and if you wake up but are still dreaming, you don't know it. I dunno, just a theory is all

Re: weird Dream effects

Post by Philly Homer on 2011-01-20, 21:18

My dreams are not affected by my surroundings at all and I've never had lucid dreams.

Just last night I had this dream where my best friend and I were driving in this creepy ass forest with trees that have freaky faces. My friend is like a medusa or something cause he has snakes growing out of his head. He randomly speeds up and slows down and he uproots trees as he drives. I tell him to get outta there but he just says "Nonsense!" and floors it. We end up in a clearing and these demented zombie things come out from every direction and spiders fall from the sky.

And then I woke up. My dreams are adventures Very Happy

Colonel Sheppard + Lightsabers = Awesome

As for premonitions, I get them every once in a while. So strange. My aunt also. (Her and I have strange things in common)
Could be self-fulfilling prophecy. Still, but sometimes it almost can't be. Or at least it seems that way. My aunt theorizes that the human brain might sometimes see things in the future; or something like that. She has it all worked up with some weird guy at her work that also believes that there might be an actual stargate somewhere in the ocean.... lol...

Darkwing wrote:I hate the multiple reality dreams. The ones where you're dreaming that you're dreaming. You wake up and start going about your day. Then you wake up again. Very disorienting and really makes you question your reality
YES! I get that every once in a while. So strange too.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but has anyone had a dream in which you could tell you were in a dream, and do whatever you wanted?

I've had that happen only a few times though.

First time: "I said this is a dream. Hey wait cool!" And then I woke up. Grr! I didn't even get to do anything!

2nd time: I found myself in a ww2 battle, and started shooting the hell outta people. SOOO awesome! And then I died from a grenade and woke up.

3rd time: I found a naked chick lying on my bed, whom I went to school with, that I liked.... I just reasoned that since it wasn't real, it probably didn't matter that much. Haha. Man, and it was so real too! At first I figured I might have been drugged. But in my own house? No. And I hadn't taken any fun pills since the past morning. (they inhibit horneyness anyways)
Laughing

Other times I just wake up immediately out of excitement.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, and what about strange vivid dreams? Like, so vivid, they seem really real when you're in them.

For example, about a year ago, I had a dream I was at a public swimming pool, and there were bodies upon bodies of people piled in the pool. Squirming, pulling, squeezing for every last drop of life; and I was trying to save them all.

There was this little girl that was really close to the wall, and I put my hand out to her, but she wouldn't grab on. I grabbed hold of her, and she fought to make me let go.

She just sunk, and died. All of them did. It was so terrible.

More recently I had one of those vivid dreams; involving Hitler, Owen Field, and a jelly-like substance flooding the city. Weird ay?
