Ok, so I think I'm gonna miss stuff, it's been like 6 years since I played this, but yeah.

You take a sheet of graph paper and define each player's territories. You add things like asteroids for mining (each asteroid takes 1 square). You need to mine asteroids to build ships or improve your own. The you define the basic ships. If I remember right, your flagship could be anything, I usually chose a sovvie. A sovvie was 2 squares if memory serves and something smaller like a shuttle or miranda class 1 square.

Anyways, you deine how far each ship can travel per turn. If an object is in your way, then you can't travel on that square. You also have to define weapon's range. Anyways, you define how far things like torpedoes and phasers can go. When in range, you fire Smile

Mining asteroids is as simple as going up to the asteroid and erasing it and adding its number to your total. When you have enough to buy another ship, you do so and try to build up your fleet so that you can crush your enemy. So it does become a strategy game as you have to get into the right position to do the most damage and can become very tricky sometimes.

Oh and if you add a wormhole, then it takes you to another sheet of graph paper Smile

i wouldn't recommend getting it though, it costs somewhere around $60.

Re: Why Are you Here?

Post by Evil Person on 2011-02-11, 20:20

lol, fail....

I have come up with my own variation.

Klingons vs. Federation, lol.

My rules.

You move acrost the bored, each player starts with 4000 Minirals, random minirals will be placed on the bored.
You start with a starbase aswell, once all units are destroyed a player looses.

i even have an entire list of stats, for the klingons i have Bird of prey, D7, Vorcha, and Negh'Var, Starbase, Defient, Miranda, Galaxy, and Soverign. It kicks ass but no one will play it with me......

Technically we could al play an internet version of it, lol, upload a new map every time its your turn.

Do not worry, I will post instruction and rules when I post the board. I'll probably make it a flash file eventually by downloading the CS5 trial, then all you'll have to do is drag and drop and then screen shot, I think...

well, then why not make it so you can upload an old version, like you save the map, and you can load it again later, as a flash application, like you can save the map, then drag and drop, and thats all you have to do, when one person moves, you just move the ship to its position.

Don't listen to EP, he has no clue what he's talking about and doesn't understand the problem even on a basic level.

The game will work as a punch of image files the people will drag and drop using whatever graphics program they want, from Paint to Photoshop
