Vauxhall Astra. As it's a European car, I shall have to describe it for you North Americans.

I can't remember the mpg, it is somewhere around 40something.
Apparently, 151g/km of CO2 per kilometer.

I'm very pleased with it. It's not new, but recent enough to have power steering and nothing is in bad condition.

Nope. I talk about them quite a lot, but you probably know of them because they're owned by GM.

Most of the major European car companies are either German or American-by-proxy

The only other diference is that they might know it by Opel...

And don't forget that the french and the italians have a pretty strong auto-market...

True for the French, but aren't all the makers of practical cars in Italy owned by German car companies?

The smaller, more efficient the car, the less you have to pay in tax and petrol.

~£1.20 per litre = ~£5 per gallon = ~$8 per gallon

If you have a gas-guzzling car, you could pay 5 times more in tax.

and Inspection once a year, and thats it.

Well... We here pay for the petrol (come from oil, which would sound something like petroleum, in latin (I guess), so we call it petrol, since gas for us is what people use in their hovens to prepare food in a tradicional way, and to warm up the water you take bath in), plus polution taxes, plus circulation taxes, plus w/e the government can remember taxes, plus highway fee's, etc, etc, etc...

EDIT: We also don't care if it has 360 horsepower or w/e! 4 wheels and an engine for European people is enough...

Ugghhh, Americans and gas. We should reopen the America topic in Pandora's Box.

It is a liquid. Not a gas. I don't see it miraculously reach boiling point in front of my eyes and disappear! Therefore, Americans confuse me, rather than the other way around.

Well... I don't get confused... But I do agree that calling gas to a liquid is at least... confusing! xD
